SECOND PAST

Part of the Beyond Time series, this work explores the delicate continuity between memory and perception. Second Past confronts the viewer with the paradox of memory—the persistence of what has already vanished. In this canvas, time becomes a surface that retains traces of what once was, revealing the delicate tension between permanence and disappearance. Layers of translucent color overlap and fade, evoking the way memories dissolve and reassemble within us. Through subtle contrasts and spatial depth, Second Past transforms remembrance into a living entity. It is not merely a recollection of what has passed, but an active dialogue between the visible and the invisible, between the image and its echo. Each chromatic fragment behaves like a fragment of consciousness, vibrating between presence and loss. The work also resonates with the quiet poetry of natural light — the fading hues of evening that dissolve into night. These tones, familiar in every landscape, mirror the way memory softens with distance, blending the personal and the universal into a single continuum of perception. This work embodies the poetic essence of Beyond Time: the understanding that every past moment continues to pulse beneath the skin of the present. In contemplating it, the viewer enters an intimate territory—where memory, light, and silence coexist, reminding us that even what fades away still breathes within us.
